Anime:
Anime clicks for me when it treats its audience seriously. I’m drawn to stories with psychological depth, moral ambiguity, and slow tension. I lose interest quickly in anything overly cute, exaggerated, or fan-service driven.
I like anime that lets scenes breathe, that isn’t afraid of silence or discomfort. When anime is good, it explores alienation, obsession, identity, and control in a way few other mediums do without softening it.
Manga:
Manga feels more personal and introspective than anime. The pacing is slower, the atmosphere heavier. I like how much can be conveyed through stillness, a single panel, a look, empty space between dialogue.
Darker manga like Monster or Fable resonates more because it doesn’t rush toward resolution. It allows characters to sit in their flaws, contradictions, and internal tension without needing to redeem them.
Comics:
Comics sit in a space I really like: visual but internal. When done well, they explore identity, power, alienation, and moral conflict without rushing. I’m drawn to darker, more introspective runs rather than spectacle-heavy ones.
Comics work best for me when they slow down and focus on internal struggle instead of constant action.
Literature:
Reading isn’t a habit for me, it’s a state. I don’t read a little every day. I read intensely when something grabs me, then disappear from it just as suddenly.
When I read, I prefer writing that doesn’t overexplain or try to guide my emotions. I like ambiguity, implication, and space for interpretation. If something feels like it’s trying too hard to make a point, I lose interest. Reading, at its best, feels like entering someone else’s internal world quietly and observing without interruption.
